Founding

The Investments Committee was created during the inception of the Georgia Tech Student Foundation (GTSF) in 1986. It was made possible by the generous $100,000 gift from J. Erskine Love, ME ‘49. His one request was that the money be managed entirely by students. That donation has grown over the years to the current $2 million endowment we manage.

Georgia Tech Student Foundation

The Investments Committee is one of five committees under the umbrella of the GTSF. The motto “Moving Forward by Giving Back” is encapsulated by the distribution of nearly $30,000 each semester to student initiatives and over $800,000 to more than 500 initiatives in the past 30 years.

Current Mission

As a whole, the GTSF’s mission is to enhance the experience of each and every Georgia Tech student by developing future leaders and loyal alumni who contribute to the Institute not only during their time as a student, but also in years to come.

Specifically in the Investments Committee, we strive to increase the investing expertise of our members while creating opportunities for professional development. We hope to provide a learning experience and show members how their work helps continuously build the Georgia Tech community.
